BP Texas City Refinery - Industrial Accident 2010

Wrongful Death on Land Based Oil Rig

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Kelly Sealy was killed as a result of a land based oil rig accident resulting in a potential industrial wrongful death case.  The death occurred while working on an oil rig in Andrews, Texas.  The coordination of upstream and downstream operations is a very dangerous activity on oil rigs due to among other things the pressure and flow rates being used, alignment of valves and the integrity of equipment on the oil rig.  When handling an oil rig death case, it is very important to understand the multiple layers of parties that may be involved in the oil rig including some parties that may not readily be evident from just the crews on the job site.
